Sticking to your game plan
After hearing of a new venue record on this pool it’s wise to try the same method and see if it will produce a few bites, not necessarily get near the record. The venue form reports were that the feeder was the tactic to set up.
1st Morgan Davidson (Drennan NW) peg 13 277lb 6oz feeder NEW POOL RECORD
2nd Andy Kyte (Middle Severn Angling) peg 10 193lb 4oz feeder
3rd Carl Hamer (Monkhall) peg 2 159lb 8 oz feeder
This was further confirmed in my mind by the moderate winds producing a strong tow on all of the pegs except peg 16.
This match was also our doubles match. The normal draw for pegs was made and then split into 2 pots, so that a pairing was made up of an angler on each side of the pool. The only angler not drawing a pairing would double his catch weight, more on this later.

Don’t always trust the weather forecast, it started off bright and sunny with moderate winds then the storm clouds gathered and gave us a few good downpours , to give us all a good soaking especially those of us who didn’t have their waterproofs or umbrellas β

We weighed in a total of 732lbs or 332kg π.
Terry was the last name out of the draw bag for the pegs being left with peg 9. He was then last out of the bag again for the doubles pairings, which meant that he would multiply his weight by 2 for the doubles result.
That’s what he did he won the individual match putting 127lb on the scales, the first ton of our season, this was closely followed by Martin who was only 10lb behind him, which meant that Terry had nailed the carp, and both the individual and doubles match on his own. I got into the frame for the first time this year with 83-0 of carp. I could see that Mark was catching well on the paste at 9 metres to finish on 73-0 and Dave weighed in an impressive net of Ide for 63-0.
