Well done Terry who put 32-6 on the scales to take first place in the frame. Terry continued his excellent form to take first place and extend his points advantage on the leader board. Paul was close with 30-0 to take second place and Martin finished in third place with 27-4.

Another 1st place

Another reminder, that it’s time to get the polish out, Trev wants the trophies gleaming and returned to him at the last match or sooner if possible.

Match 15 – Woodside 04/10/2020

Island Pool

8 fished

Report by Trev.

Very hard fishing as a lot of rain fell during the night which affected the fishing, as you can see in the results although I (Trev) did manage a 3lb perch which was a highlight of the day 😂. Even guy found it hard going for a change.

All trophies to be cleaned and returned at next match please. 🏆

We are on the look out for new members if anybody can help for next year as Bobby, Billy, and Ted have sadly parted company with the club.

I would like to wish them all the best as they have been great servants to the club and will be sadly missed. 😢

However, the water is famous for producing huge perch, which are targeted by specimen anglers from all over the country.

Match 2 – Woodside 26/04/2015

Island Pool

20 Fished

Woodside was a mixed bag, both in terms of weather and the fish being caught, it was warm and sunny for the majority, however some pegs were left in the shade out of the sun and fishing for anything that swims.

Guy Jones, another one in the net.

Guy Jones, another one in the net.

Guy Jones made his first appearance of the season and took first place in the frame offering 22-0-0 at the scales, fishing pole throughout the match on peg 9.  Not even the distraction of Ted’s casting with both pellet waggler and feeder could put him off.  Neither could he stop Trev from recording equal third in the frame with Terry with 16-12-0.

In second place was Brian who was as surprised as anyone that the ‘fish found him’ on peg one, half way through the match.  Brian persevered with method feeder and the carp responded, even though most seemed to prefer cruising past him as the conditions improved.

Another notable catch of the day was the 3-0-0 Perch caught by Kev Lees.  Woodside is renowned for it’s specimen Perch.
