Match 4 Report – Izaac Walton Fishery (Middle Pool)
The fourth match of the season saw the club visit Izaac Walton Fishery’s Middle Pool, where anglers were greeted with bright sunshine and warm temperatures of around 19°C. Although the conditions were pleasant, they made for a challenging day on the bank.
With the majority of the carp preparing for spawning rather than feeding, bites were hard to come by, leading to lower overall weights than usual. Generally, those who could successfully mug fish managed to put together the better nets of fish.
Despite the tricky conditions, the top three made it count:
🥇 Terry Eardley (Peg 5) – 33 lb 8 oz
🥈 Dan Podmore (Peg 1) – 20 lb 2 oz
🥉 Guy Jones (Peg 2) – 14 lb 4 oz
Well done to all who persevered — and congratulations to the framers! The points race continues to tighten as we head into the next round.
