Fishing Match Report: Annual Day Out at Cob House Countryside Park – Wyatts Pool
Our annual outing fishing match took place at Cob House Countryside Park on Wyatts Pool, starting with a hearty breakfast at the Mayfly Café before the much-anticipated peg draw. With favourable weather—dry and overcast with a gentle breeze rippling across the lake—the conditions were perfect for a competitive day of fishing.
Final Results:
The overall match winner was guest angler Wayne, who stole the show with an impressive 131lb 8oz haul—congratulations to Wayne! As he was a guest, the members’ victory went to Simon, who secured first place among club members with 90lb 0oz. Not far behind, Dan claimed second place with 86lb 4oz, while Terry took third with 75lb 6oz. Guy rounded out the top four with a respectable 65lb 0oz.

A special mention goes to Gavin, who not only won his section but also landed the biggest individual fish of the season—a whopping 22lb 14oz carp! Meanwhile on the next peg Steve was still waiting for bites until the last hour, and he stated he’s never ever had a DNW to his name, but that’s fishing and why we 💖it eh Steve?
Overall, it was a fantastic day out with plenty of competitive spirit and some great catches. Well done to everyone involved, and we look forward to next year’s event!
